Eurovision Song Contest: My top 10.

42 countries participated in the last version of the Eurovision Song Contest that took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, a country located near the Caspian Sea, between Asia and Europe. Loreen from Sweden, was the winner of the contest with the song "Euphoria" getting 372 points from 40 countries (Italy was the only one that didn't vote for Loreen, and Sweden obviously can't vote for itself), including 18 maximum points (12 points) overtaking Fairytale by Alexander Rybak, that in 2009 got 16 maximum points. In my opinion, Euphoria has been one of the best Eurovision song that I've ever heard and clearly deserved to win. The following 10 songs are my favorite ones, almost all of then qualified for the final and here's my top 10.

10. Joan Franka (The Netherlands) - You and Me.
Quite a relaxing song, but too relaxing for a contest like this. Maybe if the live performance had been different, she would have at least qualified for the final but it didn't. She could have done something more attractive, but unfortunately the song was eliminated in the second semi-final, with only 35 points. Anyway, it's done, here's the video.

09. Nina Zilli (Italy) - L'Amore é Femmina.
As part of the big 5, Italy automatically qualifies for the final in every contest. After almost 15 years without participating in Eurovision, Italy returned last year in Germany, getting the second place (a very great welcome back). This year, Nina and the song L´Amore é Femmina represented Italy with a good live performance getting the 9th place with 101 points.

08. Sabina Babayeva (Azerbaijan) - When the Music Dies.
At first, the song didn't seem attractive, actually her dress was the only thing that I liked, but after some days I could appreciate the quality of the song and clearly of the singer. As Azerbaijan was the last winner (the host this year), Sabina automatically qualified for the final. The song got 150 points and ended up in 4th place.

07. Gaitana (Ukraine) - Be My Guest
Maybe the happiest song in the contest, one of the best that have represented Ukraine since the country debuted in 2003. The powerful song and her strong voice weren't enough to captivate the public because she got only 65 points, ending up in 15th place, one of the worst places for a Ukranian song in the last years.

06. Pastora Soler (Spain) - Quédate Conmigo.
Sung completely in Spanish, Quédate Conmigo was the Spain's entry for this year. Pastora Soler had everything to win the contest, a very strong voice, a really great song and the most important, an interpretation that almost made me cry. She deverved a better place because the song has been one of the best that's represented Spain in at least 10 years. 97 points were given to this song, ending up 10th, the best position for Spain since 2004.

05. Anggun (France) - Echo (You and I).
Anggun is a French naturalised singer born in Indonesia that represented France with the song Echo (You and I). Despite the fact she is quite famous in some European countries, she didn't get enough votes for a better place, getting 21 points from only 6 countries. She was very disappointed about what happened because she really thought she ended up within between the Top10. The song ended up in 22nd place. In my opinion, this was a very nice song and the live performance was amazing, but unfortunately Europe has decided, and Anggun wasn't the favorite.

04. Rona Nishliu (Albania) - Suus.
Definitely the best voice in the contest came from Albania, a country that hasn't had good results in past Eurovision contests. This year Rona changed the history ending up 5th with 146 points, the best place for an Albanian entry, including 4 maximum points. At first, Suus (whose meaning is personal in English) was one of the hatest song in the contest, it was weird and very dramatic, but after the live performance given by Rona everything changed. She really has a very strong voice and the intense live performance captured the attention of everyone. Despite being sung in Albanian, Suus got to be within the Top5.

03. Ivi Adamou (Cyprus) - Lala Love.
Only 18 years old is Ivi Adamou, a Cypriot singer who got fame after participating in X Factor Greece last year. Lala Love was one of the favorite songs to win the contest, but only got a 16th place,  including 2 maximum points from (obviously) Greece and (surprisely) Sweden. Lala Love is a very fresh song, with a really nice choreography and a gorgeus singer.

02. Soluna Samay (Denmark) - Should've Known Better.
Another favorite song to win the contest, although only got 21 points from 6 countries. It was for a long time  my favorite one and I really thought it could end up within the Top5, but for some reason the song didn't like, despite the fact the singer was really cute and the song fairly nice too. What a bad result for Soluna, anyway, the song was N1 in Denmark and got into many charts around Europe.

01. Loreen (Sweden) - Euphoria.
This song got to Baku as the favorite to win the contest and it did, Loreen won the contest with 372 points, the second highest score for a winner song  (after Rybak in 2009) and the song with most maximum 12 points (18). The live performance given by Loreen was different to any other performance on stage, only Loreen and her voice, her weird movements and such a strong voice. Definitely she deserved the first place.

26 countries participated in the Gran Final, but only one song won. Here's the real results, places, points, singers/groups, songs and countries.
